Georgia has a wonderful history. Here are some facts about it. According to scientists some of the first settlers in Georgia came 13,000 years ago. These 1st settlers were the Cherokee, Creek, Alapachee, and Choctaw nations. The French then invaded and soon after, took over the land. Did  you know Georgia was part of the original 13 colonies? On January 2nd, 1788, Georgia became a state. In 1861 people of Georgia left the union because of the Civil War. They came back in 1865.
